A Custom Mask
This is a custom mask. Fabric choices are quickly changing. We are running low on fabrics and getting more in. As they are rapidly updating we will change pictures. Please let me know your preference and back up options. If you are flexible, please indicate floral, solid, color scheme preferences, etc. Any details that gives us guidance, but flexibility. We are sewing as quickly as possible to help everyone get masks, but please know that there is some wait time. Thanks so much!
These face masks are made of 3 layers of fabric for extra filtration. They have wire around the nose for a more secure fit. They have elastic on the sides to be secured around the ears. Please know that the elastic should fit most, but may not fit many. There are many methods to be able to adapt if yours does not fit. One suggestion would be to tie a ribbon to the elastic and secure it with the ribbon from behind.
CDC on Homemade Cloth Face Coverings
CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.
CDC also advises the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others. Cloth face coverings fashioned from household items or made at home from common materials at low cost can be used as an additional, voluntary public health measure.
Cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.
The cloth face coverings are not surgical masks or N-95 respirators.
Masks should be routinely washed depending on the frequency of use.
A washing machine should suffice to properly wash your face mask.
Individuals should be careful not to touch their eyes, nose, and mouth while wearing or when removing their face covering and wash hands immediately after removing. Please remove from the elastic sides. The mask does not have 100% filtration, so any germs on your hands could still be transmitted through the mask.
